Volunteer Opportunities
Most agencies seeking volunteers are reputable and reliable, but the School of Social Work is not in a position to guarantee the professional standing of individual agencies, companies or other organizations posting volunteer opportunity notices. Volunteers should research potential agencies before committing to the agency.
Agencies/Organizations: if you would like us to post your volunteer opportunity, send it to: ssw@missouri.edu.
Please visit the Voluntary Action Center's website for a list of current volunteer opportunities.
3/4/11: Meramec Adventure Learning Ranch, in Steelville, MO, is seeking volunteers/interns to run a family camp for youth on the Autism spectrum. The camp will be July 18-22 and July 25-29. Volunteers are needed for one or both weeks to work with these youth and their families. The role of a volunteer could vary from direct work with the families and going through the activities with them to doing logistical work around the camp. However, we want this to be a fulfilling experience for you as a volunteer, so if you have a preference of how you would like to become involved, please let us know. All individuals who wish to volunteer with children must complete a volunteer application and background screening. If this opportunity looks like a fit for you, or if you have any questions, please contact us at anytime at (573) 775-5513 or visit our website at www.meramecranch.org. Download PDF flyer.
