Agency
for Healthcare Research and Quality Grants information for patient
care programs, quality of life issues and other healthcare concerns.
This site is a part of DHHS. The research findings are organized
by topic/month, data and survey information, child welfare, minority
health, and women's health. State and local policymakers info for
researchers- displays health service research findings in a user-friendly
format. CONQUEST- a computerized needs-oriented quality measurement
evaluation system for collecting and evaluating clinical performance
measures- numerous mental health areas.
Community
of Science The Community of Science is an internet site for the global research and development community that compiles expertise, funding opportunities and an abstract management system. It is a place to see and to be seen. It also offers multiple funding alerts (which can be sent to you via email weekly) based on your search criteria and than be changed and modified as needed.
CRISP
Computer Retrieval of Information on Scientific Projects. This is a searchable database of biomedical research projects funded by the US Department of Health and Human services. CRISP includes projects funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services (SAMHSA), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDCP), Agency for Health Care Research and Quality (AHRQ), and Office of Assistant Secretary of Health (OASH). Researchers can use the CRISP interface to search for scientific concepts, emerging trends and techniques, or identify specific projects and/or investigators.
Environmental
Protection Agency Includes a few listings of grants that encourage
proposals from "all behavioral, social, and economic sciences".
Grants would require collaborative work but certainly require assessment
of topics of interest to social work (e.g. health disparities, income
distribution, are parents willing to pay to protect current/future
health of kids, etc.) This site is easy to use and scan.
Grants.gov Grants.gov is a central storehouse for information on over 1,000 federal grant programs and provides access to approximately $400 billion in annual awards. Grants.gov is the source for finding and applying for federal government grants.
Grantsmanship
Center Provides links to federal web sites and you can choose
to go straight to funding/grant section. They also provide general
information, links and daily updates of new grant announcements.

GrantsNet
GrantsNet is an Internet application tool created by the DHHS. There
is no one publication that describes all DHHS programs (consult
the CFDA). But this site is where you want to start for all DHHS
information. The site is easily navigated from the roadmap. HHS
opportunities takes you to a listing of DHHS agencies. This site
also has who's who in federal grants management and knownet (grant
management information).
MU Office of Research
Provides a compilation of links for various funders.
National
Science Foundation NSF is a government site listing funding
and information for research and education in science and engineering.
Program area for social work is social, behavioral sciences. Funding
opportunities are easy to locate and access. NSF is responsible
for the distribution of about 20 percent of federal support to academic
institutions for basic research. They periodically host grant conferences
and dates are listed. Easy to navigate. Web Access: www.nsf.gov
Social
Science Research Council An independent not-for-profit organization
that seeks to advance social science throughout the world and supports
research, education and scholarly exchange on every continent. The
SSRC quarterly publication is cataloged as are additional sources
of information. The current issue of SSRC publication has a discussion
of interdisciplinary research.
