Community of Science The Community of Science is an internet site for the global research and development community that compiles expertise, funding opportunities and an abstract management system. It is a place to see and to be seen. It also offers multiple funding alerts (which can be sent to you via email weekly) based on your search criteria and than be changed and modified as needed.

Computer Retrieval of Information on Scientific Projects (CRISP)

Computer Retrieval of Information on Scientific Projects (CRISP) This is a searchable database of biomedical research projects funded by the US Department of Health and Human services. CRISP includes projects funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services (SAMHSA), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDCP), Agency for Health Care Research and Quality (AHRQ), and Office of Assistant Secretary of Health (OASH). Researchers can use the CRISP interface to search for scientific concepts, emerging trends and techniques, or identify specific projects and/or investigators.

Grants would require collaborative work but certainly require assessment of topics of interest to social work (e.g. health disparities, income distribution, are parents willing to pay to protect current/future health of kids, etc.) This site is easy to use and scan.

National Science Foundation

National Science Foundation (NSF) is a government site listing funding and information for research and education in science and engineering. The Social and Behavioral Sciences Program Area includes topics relevant to social work. NSF is responsible for the distribution of about 20 percent of federal support to academic institutions for basic research. They periodically host grant conferences and dates are listed on their website.
