Our outstanding faculty make substantial contributions to expand knowledge in many vital areas, including gerontology, mental health, public health, community development, children and family services, international social development and other topics.
The school’s external funds continue to exceed general operating dollars, evidence of our faculty’s ability to compete for major research projects and use resources efficiently. These grants help provide assistantships to students, who work alongside faculty in major research.
Students learn from a global perspective, too, as faculty members share knowledge from their endeavors in Africa, Europe and North America. Faculty members share expertise with state government and other entities through program evaluation and membership on various boards and committees. Their experiences expose students to real-world applications of social work theory and practice.
