The School of Social Work is planning on relocating to the former student health building on the west side of Francis Quadrangle or renovating existing and expanded space in Clark Hall. Either location represents the fulfillment of a long-term strategic goal to accommodate continued growth and productivity, and to provide a space for faculty and students that is commensurate with those of peer institutions.
More accommodating space coincides with many other accomplishments, including major advancements in research productivity, successful implementation of a doctoral program; increased interdisciplinary activity at the campus, national and international levels; and an increase in enrollment in both the master’s and undergraduate program.
Our new space will afford the school numerous benefits and will aid in recruiting and retaining the highest-caliber faculty and students; presenting opportunities for student and faculty interaction; and providing a backdrop for synergistic exchange.
Support from alumni and friends will allow the school to construct state of the art classrooms, and community meeting space, install computer networking capabilities, replace outdated climate control systems and complete other needed improvements.
