The Part-Time Master of Social Work (MSW) Program Campus prepares graduates for leadership in professional social work practice within the areas of Clinical Practice or Policy, Planning and Administration (PP&A). The graduate curriculum provides an educational experience that is rigorous, comprehensive and progressive, preparing graduates for a range of advanced career opportunities.
In response to the needs of working adults who live in the Mid-Missouri area and desire advanced social work education opportunities, the Part-Time MSW Program Campus provides a CSWE-accredited MSW program during evening (Monday-Thursday) and some weekend hours. Regular Standing Part-Time students attend 2 classes per semester over a period of three years (8-9 semesters). Advanced Standing Part-Time Students begin in the Spring and attend 2 classes per semester over a period of 2 years (5-6 semesters)
Instructional technology may include any of the following: in-person instruction, on-line courses and an ITV system (interactive television) that links the Columbia campus to students in our Part-Time MSW Program-Off Campus program. Students should have access to independent computer resources in order to complete a significant amount of required online coursework.
Regular Standing Part Time MSW Campus students begin in Spring Semester (January) or Fall Semester (August). Advanced Standing Part Time MSW Campus students begin in Spring Semester (January) only. Part-time cohorts are contingent upon the number of admitted applicants seeking a specific plan of study.
