Research Assistantships
As a productive member of a Carnegie I Research
Institution, the MU School of Social Work encourages and supports
faculty research agendas. As a support, School of Social Work faculty

and commit to working ten hours/week with a faculty member. The
duties of a student Research Assistant may include:
- Conducting literature searches,
- Reviewing journal articles,
- Managing data and research resources,
- Preliminary data analysis, and
- Grant application preparation.
- Other duties necessary to support research and/or the School's
mission.
The student benefits of being a Research Assistant
include:
- In-depth research experience
- Mentoring from a faculty member
- Monthly stipend and a
- Semester tuition waiver
