The School of Social Work Alumni Organization (SSWAO) is a division of the Mizzou Alumni Association (MAA). The MAA has a new website with many wonderful new features and services including an Online Community Directory. To take full advantage of the services available for members and non-members, we encourage all Social Work Alumni to register at the Online Directory. We have found that our most important link - our fellow classmates - are lost in many cases because they no longer have a viable address. Please consider registering for the Directory and/or updating your address. Encourage your alumni friends to do so, as well. In addition, please be sure to indicate your employment information in the fields available and note your field of practice in the comment section so that we can begin to develop alumni networks around fields of practice. Services provided by the SSWAO are expanding. The SSWAO continues to explore new ways to meet the needs of Social Work Alumni for networking, reconnecting with classmates, continuing education opportunities, and collegiality. Through the ongoing commitment of volunteers that are elected to the Board of Directors, new initiatives are undertaken.

Currently, the SSWAO:

Helps provide networking opportunities for Social Work Alumni through assisting with major events: Homecoming Tailgate, Annual Fall Conference, and the Social Work Month Forum.
Supports the School's communication efforts to alumni and stakeholders designed to raise awareness about the social work profession and the need for professional social work education and research.
Sponsors the School's Annual Awards Program, which recognizes Outstanding Alumni, Faculty, Students, and Agencies.
Advocates for the profession through support of the School.
